How We Treat CancerAdditional TreatmentsHyperthermia utilizes the known predispostion for many tumors to be more sensitive to heat than is the surrounding tissue. Heat in the range of 106 - 113 degrees fahrenheit may stunt the growth of cancer or cause death of the malignant cells within a tumor. We use various techniques of hyperthermia depending on such factors as tumor size and depth from the surface, type of cancer, and general condition of the patient. Aqueous whole body hyperthermia techniques attmpt to raise the entire core body temperature, seeking to effectuate a "systemic" hyperthermia. Localized aqueous hyper thermia, and ultrasound hyperthermia may be useful for shalow to intermediate depth lesions. Surface aqueous heating and infrared hyperthermia are used for the more superficial lesions. One of the drawbacks of hyperthermia is the fact that the brain is quite sensitive to elevated temperatures. Another potential limiting factor in hyperthermia is the need to raise the temperature within a tumor to a therpautic level for an adequate period of time. Hypoglycemia treatments induce a low blood sugar condition with the intent of depriving cancer cells of their favored energy source...glucose. This is thought to weaken the cancer cell and cause it to be less active. While in a weakenend condition the cancer cells may be more vulnerable to destruction. Induced Hypoglycemic Potentiation is utilized in an attempt to potentiate the introduction of anti-cacner agents into the cancer cell. since sugar is the preferred nutrient source for energy in cancer cells, it is postualted that the sudden replenishment of blood sugar following a short period of induced hypoglycemia (low blood sugar caused purposefully by the physician) will allow a greater amount of other potentially anti-cancer agents to enter the cell with the glucose. One of the main agents introduced this way in alternative cancer therapy is vitamin C. Our clinics do not administer chemotherapy, but some oncologists are now using induced hypoglycemic therapy along with chemotherapy in an attempt to allow more of the chemo drugs to enter the cancer cells. Low dose chemotherapy is often utilized with induced hypoglycemia under the premise that IF chemo can enter a cancer cell more readily following a low blood sugar state, then perhaps a lower dose of chemo can be administered to the patient, causing less damage to non-malignant tissues and organs. High dose vitamin C treatments use very high amounts of ascorbic acid in a attempt to flood the body, and any malignant cells found within it, with levels of ascorbate which would be very difficult, if not impossible, to achieve normally. To do this, the vit C is administered intravenously over a period of two or three hours. Done this way, the very high doses of vitamin C are very well tolerated by the body. Immune Treatments, are an important concept in natural and homeopathic cancer care. The immune system is thought to play a role in fighting cancer and maintaining the body as a whole in a healthful state. Natural killer cells and other immune system cells are thought by many to attack cancer cells. In fact, many believe that the immune system is the body's primary line of defense against malignancy. [More Info] Iscador, also known as viscum, is prepared from an extract of the mistletoe vine. This is one of the most ancient natural cancer therapy found in western herbology. It can be adminsitered in various ways, with the most common being injections of Iscador just under the skin. Daily doses advance the strength of the Iscador. Neural therapy treatments seek to utilize the body's energy system for healing, in a way similar to that which occurs with acupuncture. Neural therapy invloves the use of very small injections just under the skin in certain predetermined patterns. |

Every person and their case of cancer or other illness is unique. The cases presented here should not be taken as being "typical". Others may respond differently to our therapies. We encourage every patient to learn of all their options in both natural and conventional medical care. There are many additional sources of information for patients and their families to research, including their own local licensed physician. We do not claim to have any sure and certain "cure" for any disease, but endeavor to bring our best medical knowledge to bear on each case.
