TestimonialsThe greatest references we have come from our patients...the following is just a sample of the feedback we receive.Prostate CancerDr. Minton: People always ask me whether the cancer stays away when we have apparently completely eliminated it from the body. I will have to admit that even when there is no clinical sign of the cancer remaining within the body, there is still some chance that a few cells are lurking somewhere. We must be diligent to watch the patient carefully and to help them maintain a lifestyle and perhaps even follow-up treatments in order to minimize the chance that their cancer could recur. This case represents an apparent elimination of the cancer for the past two years. It also serves as an example of the fear and confusion that can grip us when we are faced with a potentially deadly foe. Mr. D.S. came to see me after having just been diagnosed with prostate cancer by his urologist. His urologist told him that the PSA level, the ultrasound imaging of the gland, and the needle biopsy results all confirmed a diagnosis of prostate cancer. He recommended either surgery, radiation, or a combination of both. DS was reluctant to do either choice, fearing damage to his ability to urinate and to perform sexually. However, he was apparently skeptical about alternative treatment, wondering if it really worked. Somewhat reluctantly, he began my treatment regimen for prostate cancer. Since he had no real substantial symptoms from the disease, he did not notice much difference from my treatments. After the end of the first two weeks of my planned three month course of therapy for him, he decided to quit and have the gland removed surgically. I urged him to continue with the natural therapy and if any tumor remained at the end of it then perhaps he could consider surgery or some other conventional mode of treatment (I had confidence that my therapy would either shrink it way down or eliminate it entirely). Fearing that he may be wasting his time with my alternative treatments, he returned to his urologist and stated that he had decided on the surgery. the urologist scheduled him for surgery with an expert in nerve sparing technique and repeated the ultrasound test to see how much more it had grown in the meanwhile. Shockingly, the tumor had shrunk to such a small size that it was barely visible. When the patient had the gland removed soon thereafter, only a very small focus of cancer remained in the gland, according to his description of the pathologist's report. I truly believe that had he completed my three month treatment program, there would have been no cancer at all found when the gland was removed and examined pathologically. But a very happy end to the story, as of my conversation with DS in March, 2000, there was no indication by his urologist of any remaining cancer in his body. I believe that even in that very short period of two weeks that we had drastically shrunk and weakened the main tumor and destroyed any metastatic cells present in the nods or outside the gland. It is my belief and ardent hope for DS that there is indeed no more prostate cancer in his body! |
