Dr. Minton: The vast majority of our patients refuse to have any conventional therapy. Most commonly it is because they have tried it already and found it caused nasty side-effects and resulted in little or no improvement in their condition. As a matter of fact, I do not ever myself administer any kind of chemotherapy. I utilize only alternative, natural and less or non-toxic modalities. This case is quite different. It involves a man who wished to have both conventional and alternative care simultaneously. He is very fortunate because he is now apparently completely free of this deadly form of cancer. His story is quite amazing and heartening!

It was my pleasure to have been one of the physicians who treated him and I am very happy with his dramatically positive outcome. He underwent simultaneous conventional and alternative treatment. The conventional therapy was administered as low-dose chemotherapy by the physician with whom I share my office. He is both an oncologist and homeopath. As he administered a conservative and sensible chemotherapy program, the patient underwent our main treatment modalities for melanoma including MVM intravenous therapy and a special natural plant chemical called azelaic acid. His response was quite dramatic. The very large tumor in his groin which had been occluding the blood flow, thereby causing his leg to swell, rapidly disappeared. Without surgery, his main tumor is completely gone. Additionally, as of the last time I administered IV treatments to him in early 1999, there was no sign of the cancer anywhere in his body! Let me now share with you excerpts of his wife's written description of the ordeal they endured while battling this usually deadly and incurable type of cancer.

Mrs. J.H.: "In May 1998 they examined him at the hospital and found a growth I the groin area with a blockage of blood flow into the leg. We were told, after cat scans, MRIs and blood tests that he had metastatic melanoma. Five and a half years before that, W had been diagnosed with melanoma (a deadly form of skin cancer) on the shoulder. the melanoma is called metastatic because it spread from the original site of the shoulder. It had not only spread to the groin area, but there was a lump above his knee plus lymph gland involvement in the lower abdomen and lower back and outside of the lung. Our oncologist (Dr. M's note: in their home city) gave W little hope. He admitted that W had perhaps six months to live and that chemotherapy would probably add only another three months. He connected us with a hospice group and suggested that we make whatever plans were necessary. Many people began praying for us.

Our oldest daughter and I took W directly to an airplane and later that night he entered a hospital in Reno. After five weeks under the care of these doctors, W's tumors had completely disappeared and there was no appearance of of involvement in the lymph glands. The doctors were ecstatic. The doctors said that because his recovery those first five weeks had been so strong, they anticipated that if he would continue this regimen for the next three or four months, he would be completely in remission. And praise God, that is exactly what happened. Fortunately the oncologist who treated W (Dr. M note: in their home city) said he would follow any plan prescribed. He didn't particularly believe in alternative methods, but was certainly open. This doctor is now so in awe--he has even said to us, "If I believed in miracles, I would call this a miracle. I've been treating cancer patients for many years and I've never seen such a startling about face." As of March 15, 1999, W has been diagnosed for the past four months as being in complete remission."
