Colon Cancer April, 2000

Dear Dr. Minton,

Hello, my name is H.S. You are most likely wondering who I am! Well, you helped my grandmother (W.A.) with her cancer. I was just wanting to tell you thank you so very much for all that you have done for our family and my best friend! I will never be able to thank you enough for everything. You are a life saver in my eyes! Thank you, H.S. " Oct. 9, 1999

(The following case history reflects the fact that there is hope for even the most severe and seemingly incurable cancers. I first saw W. A., a sixty four year old woman, this past summer. At that time she told me that many months previously, colon cancer had been discovered and removed surgically. Following that, metastases occurred in several areas. Her oncologist at home in Houston, Texas treated her three times with chemotherapy. Unfortunately the metastases failed to respond and continued growing. The final course of chemo was so harsh that she spent nearly a week in the hospital to recover from it.

Her family then began looking for alternative cancer care resulting in her coming to my clinic for three weeks of intensive treatment this past July, 1999. When we began treating her a review of her recent lab tests showed many metastatic tumors involving the lungs, pericardium (lining around the heart) and the liver. She responded very positively to our treatments. This fall she returned to her oncologist who repeated her tests. The results were quite astounding. No tumors were visible in the lungs or around the heart, and it appeared that only one possible tumor remained in the liver, although several had been there before. The remaining liver lesion was smaller than before and may in fact be now composed of benign tissue. Her oncologist recommends that it be surgically removed and evaluated by the pathologist since it has now decreased to a size small enough to be removed safely. My staff and I are all very hopeful for a dramatically positive outcome for her! Dr. Minton)

"In September, 1998, my 64 year old mother-in-law had what she thought was a case of food poisoning. After several days of diarrhea and a bloody bowel movement she decided a visit to her doctor was needed. After an initial visit to her Primary Care Provider, the decision for her to consult with a gastroenterologist was made. She had a colonoscopy and CT scan which confirmed a colon mass and lesions in her liver. Surgery to remove the colon mass and a liver biopsy was scheduled for November 3, 1998. Following several hours of surgery the team of surgeons talked with our family and gave us the diagnosis of Stage IV adenocarcinoma (colon) with metastases to the liver. We were told the liver tumors were too large to remove. A very gloom prognosis was presented by the surgeons. The only option at this point presented to us was aggressive chemotherapy that was to begin around the first of the New Year. At this point we felt that by being in Houston, TX with world renowned medical facilities she had the best care available. From January - May 1999 several types of chemotherapy treatments were used. All with dire circumstances. A CT Scan and x-rays in April, 1999 showed growing liver tumors with possible new lesions. A chest x-ray showed the cancer had spread to the right lung and pericardium. The chemotherapy had done nothing but weaken her entire system. Please note that on several occasions we had questioned the oncologist about alternative therapies. Finding her condition continually getting worse, a decision to stop all conventional medical treatments was made. At this time her entire body systems were shutting down.. Following a two week hospital stay the decision to seek Alternative Cancer Treatment was made. After literally researching alternative options from all over the world the decision was made for Dr. Phillip Minton of Reno, NV to treat my mother-in-law. We flew from our home in Houston, TX on July 10, 1999. Treatment began the following Monday.
